Mini top 5 with Derek Leroy

Days are lasting longer, allergies are kicking in and my epidermis is peeling from all the UV ray attention it is getting.  Its that time of year again.

Every summer I get new wheels.  I buy them about 10 sizes too big so they will last all year round.  Last year I bought some Girl 52 mm ones, and this time the obligatory big wheels were some Satori 54’s.  I usually just roll around on them for a good week straight because I am not used to my board being so lopsided in weight distribution.  Fliptricks are futile during this week break in period as well, so I get another excuse for losing to Tim in a game of SKATE… Actually there is no excuse. Tim can do every fliptrick from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2, even the double tap and corner ones, on command.  I have never played Tim, but the only aspect I would have a chance of winning in a game of SKATE against him would be the rock, paper, scissors order-determining-throw-down that precedes it.  I play dirty with the scissors.

Yesterday my nollie heelflips in a land to miss ratio were about 1:40.  Furthermore, of those 40 or so missed nollie heels about 7 of them came dangerously close to credit carding.  I learned that Derek is more consistent, and more elegant, at nollie heelflipping into tailslides than I am in flatground stand alone nollie heelflips.  His ratio of nollie heelflip tailslide 270 out makes to misses from filming this mini top 5 blatant crailtap ripoff (or ode to Ty Evans, whichever you prefer) was 1:2.
